“Reading it well”
Today we are continuing to look at how we
read and interpret the Scriptures in our 21st
century context.
We're going for big words today - exegesis, eisegesis, hermeneutics...don't be scared away thought - they are just fancy terms for things we already do!
Of course amongst all these big words we need to remember that our reading of the word must always lead to change in our own lives. If we're not reading it to be transformed then what's the point?. Let's read the word and be changed by it too...

“The guidebook for life”
Today we are continuing to look at how we
read and interpret the Scriptures in our 21st
century context.
Sometimes it’s difficult to know how to apply
the bible to our lives today. Do you ever
wonder if some sections were just written for
their time in history and weren’t supposed to
be transported to our time?
It’s true that the bible is both a historical
document yet also eternally relevant - so it
spoke back then and it speaks today. We just
need to read it while holding these ideas in
tension - quite a challenge!

“God speaks to us today”
This week we are starting a new series on God’s Word, otherwise known as the bible.
The bible is an incredible book: written over thousands of years, by multiple authors, in styles that range from romantic poetry to prophetic visions and yet all inspired by God and telling one overarching story – that of God’s love for mankind.
Perhaps the most remarkable thing about the scriptures though is that it is still powerfully relevant for us today. Join us as we begin to explore this amazing book.
